Be assured, your credit union deposits are insured

Every member of a credit union in Ontario is covered by deposit insurance through the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO).

The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO) is a corporation established by the Credit Unions and Caisses Populaires Act specifically to provide deposit insurance for credit union members against loss of part or all of their deposits.

Maximum Member Coverage

Member deposits are insured to a maximum of:

$100,000 for the combined total of all deposits

PLUS

$100,000 for deposits in each additional registered savings plan (eg. RRSP, RRIF, TFSA and RESP)
